About DLP

Florin Murmu

20-year-old · Farming Family · Tailoring Training Beneficiary

“Through her work, she gained financial independence and a stronger sense of purpose.”

Florin grew up in poverty, her family dependent on unpredictable harvests. After receiving sewing training through DLP and being given a sewing machine, she became self-employed — earning income and resuming her interrupted education. Today she is a role model for youth in her village, proving that young women can overcome barriers when given the right opportunity.

Opiron Mardy

60-year-old Widow · North Bengal · Goat-to-Cow Journey

“The cow became a symbol of dignity, self-reliance, and renewed confidence.”

A widow with no children and no support, Opiron received 2 goats through DLP. She cared for them diligently, watched them multiply, and strategically sold them to purchase a cow — providing regular milk income and financial stability she had never known before.
